Rules for Tic-Tac-ChecTic-Tac-Chec is an easy game to learn. The rules are very simple. The game is for two players. Each player gets four pieces, a rook, a bishop, a knight and a pawn. They move in the same manner as they normally would on a chess board. The board is actually a quarter of the chess board. Choose the starting player by taking the white pawn in one hand and the black in the other. The other player chooses a hand and takes the color of the pawn enclosed therein. White's turn is first. To take his turn a player may either place a piece OR move a piece. Captured pieces return to the pool of pieces to be placed on the board. There is no order to the pieces that may be placed. A player may replace the same piece several turns in a row, even if he has one or more others in the piece pool. Before moving or capturing can begin a player must have at least three pieces on the board. The players continue to alternately place and move until one side or the other lines all his pieces up horizontally, vertically or diagonally. Optionally, you can put a 5 minute time limit on the game, or even try using a chess clock!
