Tyrannosaurus Dinosaur Woodkit
The Tyrannosaurus Dinosaur Woodkit recreates the actual "king of the dinosaurs" that roamed the Earth during the Mesozoic Era. Fun high quality woodkits are made from sturdy wood pieces. They provide a fascinating challenge for modelers who can build the woodkit for display or take it apart and put it back together again like a puzzle. The Tyrannosaurus woodkit looks very much like the Tyrannosaurus in his bare bones. Woodkit are a fun learning experience, but the dinosaur woodkits are of interest to budding scientists as they explore the world of prehistoric creatures. This model is 13 inches long, 3 inches wide, and 9.5 inches tall. It is recommended for ages seven and up, but five can be built by five year olds with the help of parents.
Tyrannosaurus means "tyrant lizard". This creature, sometimes called a monster, was the largest known carnivore (meat eater) ever to walk the earth. Its huge jaws held 7-inch long serrated teeth that cut through flesh like steak knives. The powerful hind legs with enormous, talon-like claws were used to grip its prey. The two-fingered forelimbs seem weak and small compared to the rest of the animal. Scientists are still trying to determine if they even had a purpose. In any case, the Tyrannosaurus was a fearsome creature that could presumably take on any of the other dinosaurs.
