Brachiosaurus Dinosaur Woodkit
The Brachiosaurus Dinosaur Woodkit is an excellent recreation of one of the largest creatures ever to walk the Earth during the Mesozoic Era. These woodkits are designed with both quality and fun in mind. The sturdy wood pieces will provide fun and a challenge as modelers can build the woodkit for display or take it apart and put it back together again like a puzzle. The Brachiosaurus woodkit depicts this amazing beast as we think of him today, in his bare bones. Any woodkit is a fun learning experience, but the dinosaur woodkits help to kindle the imagination of the budding paleontologist as he or she explores the world of prehistoric creatures. This model is 22 inches long, 4 inches in width, and 11.5 inches high. It contains 52 pieces. Recommended for ages seven and up. But advanced children as young as 5 should be able to handle this model/puzzle (with some help).
Brachiosaurus means "arm lizard". Measuring over 80 feet in length and weighing over 70 tons, it was one of the largest dinosaurs that ever lived. Using a very long, neck (reminiscent of a giraffe) this plant-eater could consume leafy vegetation sprouting from tall trees. Unlike most other dinosaurs, the front legs of the Brachiosaurus were longer than the hind legs. Strangely, it had nostrils, high on the top of its head that were separated by a bony bar, indicating that it might have spent much time in the water.
