History of Brick, the Dice Game
Brick was invented in 2004 by W.J. Rayment. He got the idea while playing around with a "brick" of 36 dice while in his wife's toy store Toy Crossing, in Harbor Beach, Michigan. "It began as simply idle curiosity," said Mr. Rayment. "I just wanted to see what the distribution of the various sets would be if I rolled thirty-six dice all at once. I sorted the dice and then I began to wonder what would happen if I re-rolled each set. Of course, the dice followed the usual distribution patterns, with minor variations."
But the variations proved to be interesting enough that Mr. Rayment invited his daughter to try the same experiment only this time choosing the sets that seemed most likely to yield the most pips. Thus, the game of Brick was born and has been popular ever since.
W.J. Rayment has written 10 books including How NOT to Build an Addition and The Real Man's Cookbook. Both are available at amazon.com and your finer bookstores everywhere.
